Haley Mowery (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Northern) made nine saves as the Bullets earned a 2-1 victory over Arcadia University in a non-conference field hockey game Saturday afternoon at a rainy Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium.

The Bullets leveled their record at 2-2 for the season while the Knights saw their four-match winning streak come to an end and dropped to 4-2.

Making her first career penalty-stroke attempt, sophomore
Hannah Fitzgerald (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) drilled in the game-winning goal with 2:20 left to break a 1-1 tie. The Knights were awarded a corner inside the final minute but were unable to convert.

Arcadia outshot the Bullets 8-2 in the first half but could not dent Mowery, who made four stops in the opening half. Junior
Christina Wright (Kingsville, Md./Fallston) helped keep the Knights off the scoreboard with a defensive save just over six minutes into the contest, and senior
Lexie Mowery (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Northern) put Gettysburg up 1-0 when she posted her first career goal with 2:32 left in the opening period.

The Knights pulled even with 13:44 remaining in the game, when Katrina Dull tipped in a shot from the left post following a corner. But the Bullets outshot Arcadia 5-1 the rest of the way, and
Haley Mowery turned aside the Knights' final shot with 3:22 remaining.

Arcadia finished with advantages in shots (15-10) and corners (13-8). Mia De Plato stopped five shots for the Knights.

Gettysburg picks up its schedule next Saturday, when it hosts 10th-ranked Ursinus College at 4:30 p.m. during Homecoming weekend.
