Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Elizabeth Davis turned in four goals to help lift Washington College past Gettysburg College 5-1 in Centennial Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium.
Davis would put Washington (7-1, 1-1 CC) in the books in the 18th minute following a pass from Jackie O'Connell. The Shorewomen tacked on another goal less than seven minutes later as Alli Dudley found the back of the box to make it 2-0.
Gettysburg (2-5, 0-3 CC) would slice the lead in half as freshman
Julia Cranna (Needham, Mass./Needham) scored her first collegiate tally with less than four minutes remaining in the half. Washington would up its lead back to two on another tally by Davis at 33:25.
The Shorewomen padded their advantage early in the final half as Davis connected on a pair of unassisted scores in the 43rd and 49th minutes.
Washington finished with a 13-8 advantage in shots and a 13-6 lead in penalty corners.
Freshman
Haley Mowery (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Northern) and sophomore
Ronnie Bridges (Kingsville, Md./Notre Dame Prep) each played one half and totaled six saves for Gettysburg.
Gettysburg heads to Stevenson University for a non-conference game on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m.
