Stephanie Blair (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) posted 26 assists and 19 digs and junior
Joosje Grevers (Westport, Conn./Staples) led a balanced attack with eight kills to lead Gettysburg College to a 3-0 non-conference victory at Hood College on Wednesday night.
Gettysburg (4-1) defeated Hood (1-4) with scores of 25-10, 25-20, and 25-21. The Bullets made short work of the Blazers in the opening set, but the visitors trailed late in each of the final two contests. Hood led the second set 18-16 as Gettysburg struggled on the attack, committing 11 errors in the set. The Bullets recovered late with a 9-2 run, capitalizing on errors by the hosts and then sealing the win on a kill by Grevers.
The visitors also trailed by as many as five in set three before another late run. Hood led 17-13 before Gettysburg ran of four consecutive kills followed by an error on the hosts to take the lead 18-17. The Blazers regained the lead briefly, but the Bullets put the set and match to rest with a three-point run to close.
Blair continued a strong run to start her collegiate career with her fourth double-double in a row. She also added four kills and an ace. Junior
Hannah Bentz (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) tallied 13 digs and three aces.

Maddie Weikert (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) each posted six kills, while freshman
Lauren Godshalk (West Chester, Pa./Bhsip Shanahan) added five kills.
Gettysburg returns to action this weekend with the two-day Hampton Inn Crusader Classic hosted by Susquehanna University. The Bullets face Misericordia University and Saint Vincent College on Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 and 9 p.m., respectively.
