Box Score 2 BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Muhlenberg College topped Gettysburg College 3-0 in a Centennial Conference volleyball match hosted by Moravian College. The Bullets bounced back to defeat the host Greyhounds in three sets to end the day.
Gettysburg (13-12, 3-5 CC) fell to Muhlenberg (15-9, 5-4 CC) with scores of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-17. Junior
Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) posted a dozen kills for the Bullets, while sophomore
Stephanie Blair (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) tallied 20 assists and 12 digs. Senior
Alesha Miller (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and sophomore
Katherine Gilbert (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) posted 11 and 16 digs, respectively.
Gettysburg rebounded with its second-best attacking effort of the season. The team pounded down 17 kills in the third set and finished with an attack percentage of .337 in the match with Moravian (15-15).
Bergin once again led the way with 13 kills. She added eight digs and three aces. Sophomore
Maddie Weikert (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) tallied eight kills with no errors in 21 attempts (.381 attack percentage), while Blair and senior
Joosje Grevers (Westport, Conn./Staples) each recorded six kills. Blair dished out 22 assists.
Gilbert paced the Bullets defensively with 10 digs.
Gettysburg hosts Franklin & Marshall College on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear green in support of Green Dot Awareness Day. Green Dot is a by-stander training program aimed to train students to respond and prevent power-based personal violence. There will be a short video feature Gettysburg student-athletes shown between sets two and three during Wednesday's match.
