Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. – Junior guard Pete Christ (Pittstown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) tied a career-high with 22 points and the Gettysburg College men's basketball team stayed hot with a 77-58 Centennial Conference (CC) victory at Dickinson College Tuesday evening at the Kline Center.

Junior forward Cody Kiefer (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) contributed his second-straight double-double, posting 17 points and 12 rebounds to go with five assists as the Bullets (4-1, 2-0 CC) won their fourth game in a row.

Sophomore guard Matt England (Warrington, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) added 15 points for Gettysburg while senior center Kevin Gladstone (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) notched 11 points and a career-high eight assists.

Christ equaled his uniform number for the fifth time in his career and the first time since a victory over Washington College on Jan. 24 of last season. He shot 8-for-12 from the field, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.

Brandon Angradi scored 10 points to lead Dickinson (1-4, 0-2 CC), the defending Centennial Conference champion.

The Bullets have now opened their conference schedule with victories over the two teams that reached the Centennial Conference final last season. The Orange and Blue defeated Johns Hopkins University in their conference opener last Tuesday.

It was a close game in the early going, when there were three ties and one lead change over the opening eight minutes. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Gladstone and freshman guard Alec Warren (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) put the Bullets up 12-6, but the Red Devils answered with a 6-0 spurt to pull even with 12:10 on the clock.

Gettysburg responded with a 16-3 run, which included a trio of 3-pointers, over the next 6:24 to open up a 13-point lead. Christ scored eight points along the way, and a triple from Kiefer made it 28-15 with 3:45 showing.

A Gladstone lay-in with 2:06 left in the half gave the Bullets their largest lead (34-19) of the stanza. Dickinson ended the half on a 6-2 surge to make it a 36-25 game at the intermission.

Christ led Gettysburg with 12 first-half points while Kiefer added seven points and seven rebounds.

Brandon Angradi knocked down a 3-pointer 10 seconds into the second half to pull the hosts to within single digits. However, that's when the Bullets reeled off a 14-6 run to assume a 16-point lead (50-34) following a 3-ball from sophomore forward Cam Stewart (Sydney, Australia/Newington College from the right corner.

Gettysburg continued to dial long distance as they pulled away. Christ connected on back-to-back treys to give the Bullets a 22-point advantage (56-34) with 13:56 remaining, and the Red Devils were unable to get closer than 16 the rest of the way. Gettysburg settled any doubt with an 8-1 run after Dickinson had drawn to within 16 (67-51) with 6:19 left.

The Bullets return home on Saturday, when they take on Muhlenberg College in another Centennial Conference tilt starting at 2 p.m.
