Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gerry Wixted scored a game-high 24 points to led fourth-ranked Dickinson College to a 72-60 Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball victory over Gettysburg Wednesday evening in Bream Gym.

Dickinson (18-2, 15-2 CC) avenged its first loss of the season after the Bullets had defeated the Red Devils 67-61 in Carlisle back on Nov. 25.

Junior center Kevin Gladstone (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) posted 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists for the Bullets while senior guard Sean Gordon (Broomall, Pa./Malvern Prep) also scored 17 points.

Brandon Angradi contributed 14 points for Dickinson, which won its seventh-straight game.

The Bullets now find themselves tied with McDaniel College for fifth place in the Centennial Conference standings after the Green Terror's victory at Washington College on Wednesday.

The Red Devils jumped to a 39-26 halftime advantage, then extended their lead to 15 midway through the period. It was a 58-43 game with 8:35 left when the Bullets dug in defensively, blanking Dickinson over the next three and a half minutes. A jumper by Gladstone pulled Gettysburg to within 58-49 with 5:23 showing; however, that's as close as the Bullets would get. Angradi canned a big 3-pointer to put the visitors up 64-49 with 3:24 left.

The first 12 minutes featured four ties and three lead changes. The Bullets outscored Dickinson 11-6 to start the game following a lay-up from sophomore forward Cody Kiefer (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) with 13:22 on the clock. But the Red Devils answered with a 13-5 run over the next five minutes and took the lead for good when a 3-pointer from Ted Hinnenkamp made it 19-16 with 8:11 showing.

A dunk by sophomore forward Tanner Kirkpatrick (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) pulled the Bullets to within 29-24 with 2:15 to go in the half, but Dickinson ended the period on a 10-2 run to open up its 13-point advantage at the break.

Gettysburg returns to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, when it visits Muhlenberg College at 4 p.m.
