Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Gettysburg whittled a 12-point deficit down to three in the final minute, but the comeback ran out of time as host Muhlenberg College defeated the Bullets 77-73 in a big Centennial Conference (CC) match-up Saturday afternoon.

The Bullets (11-10, 7-7 CC) now lead Muhlenberg and Ursinus College by one game for the fifth and final Centennial Conference playoff spot with four games left in the season.

Sophomore forward
Tanner Kirkpatrick (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led Gettysburg with 19 points and seven rebounds while sophomore guard
Pete Christ (Pittstown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) added 17 points on 5-of-9 3-point shooting. Junior center
Kevin Gladstone (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) contributed 16 points while senior guard
Sean Gordon (Broomall, Pa./Malvern Prep) posted 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Malique Killing scored 21 points to lead Muhlenberg (11-10, 6-8 CC).

Gettysburg trailed 70-58 with 3:34 left after Jon Schreer connected on a 3-pointer for Muhlenberg. But the Bullets assembled a 12-4 run, capped by a jumper from Gladstone, to make it 74-70 with 37 seconds left.

Killing pushed the lead to six after hitting a pair of free throws three seconds later, but Gordon canned a trey to make it a 76-73 ballgame with 29 ticks showing. The Bullets received a break when the Mules missed two shots at the line, but were unable to take advantage, missing a jumper at the other end. Muhlenberg's Sam McClellan pulled down the rebound, then hit the second of two free throws with 13 seconds left to ice it.

The Mules never trailed after opening the game on a 9-2 run. The Bullets pulled to within a point on three occasions, the last coming on a Christ 3-pointer that made it 30-29 with 4:35 left in the opening period. But the hosts answered with an 8-0 run and led 40-33 at the half.

Muhlenberg led by at least six in the second half before Gettysburg's late run.

The Bullets return to action on Wednesday, when they visit 13th-ranked Johns Hopkins University at 8 p.m.
