Cory Karagjozi (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) went 3-for-4 and roped his 100th career hit as the Gettysburg College baseball team defeated Hood College 11-2 at Frederick Community College Thursday afternoon.

Eric Brown (Marriottsville, Md./Marriott's Ridge) worked seven inning and scattered four hits to earn the win on the mound for the Bullets (7-4), who were playing for the first time in five days due to a pair of cancelled games earlier in the week.

Hood (3-6), competing in its inaugural baseball season, was playing its first-ever home game.

Gettysburg slugged a season-high 20 hits and outscored the Blazers 9-0 to start the game. Kielbasa highlighted a four-run second with a two-run triple, and in the fourth sophomore
Connor Tom (Reinholds, Pa./Conrad Weiser) legged out a three-bagger of his own while driving in a run to make it a 5-0 game. Kielbasa's second two-run triple keyed another four-run inning in the fifth as the Bullets pushed their lead to nine.

Brown (2-0) cruised through the first five innings, when he blanked the Blazers on three hits. He induced an inning-ending double play in the third while facing just two batters over the minimum through the first five frames. Hood scratched out a run on two singles, a walk, and a sacrifice fly in the sixth, but Brown went on to work a scoreless seventh, which ended with another double play. He finished with four strikeouts and just one walk.

Gettysburg capped its scoring with a two-run ninth on an RBI-single from Tom and a run-scoring double by junior
Shawn Moffitt (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East).

Jonathan Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's) worked a scoreless eighth on the mound for the Bullets before junior
Luke Lawrence (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) tossed the ninth.

The Bullets will visit Mount Aloysius College in a non-conference doubleheader this weekend on a date and time to be announced.
