Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Bullets banged out 13 hits, but Susquehanna University handed the Gettysburg College baseball team a 14-7 setback in the season finale for both teams Monday afternoon at a windy and cold Kirchhoff Field.

With the loss, Gettysburg closes out the season with a record of 20-15. The Crusaders finish 18-17.

The two sides combined for just one run through the first four innings before Susquehanna exploded for 13 runs from the fifth through the eighth.

In his final collegiate appearance, senior
Cory Karagjozi (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) finished 3-for-4 at the plate for the Bullets. Sophomore
Connor Tom (Reinholds, Pa./Conrad Weiser) went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs while junior
Shawn Moffitt (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) was also 3-for-5.

Cory Fallon went 4-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs for the Crusaders while Bryan Palsi finished with five RBIs.

Susquehanna threw five different pitchers, with none tossing more than two innings.

Freshman
Dustin Fisher (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View) made his first collegiate start for Gettysburg and yielded just one run while scattering seven hits over the first four innings. In the meantime, starter Bobby Wittemann and reliever Travis Eiswerth each tossed two innings and allowed just one hit apiece as the Crusaders led 1-0 heading into the fifth.

Susquehanna scored five runs on six hits and two errors in the sixth to assume a 6-1 lead, then added three more in the sixth and two in the seventh to go ahead 11-2 at the seventh-inning stretch.

After being held to five hits through the first six innings, the Gettysburg offense came to life in the seventh, stroking five hits and pushing across four runs. However, Susquehanna responded with its final three runs in the top of the inning courtesy of a three-run double by Fallon into the rightfield corner that made it 14-6.

Gettysburg scored its final run of the season when Tom smacked his team-leading 14th double of the year into right-center and crossed the plate two batters later on Moffitt's infield single.

Fisher (0-1) tossed four innings and was charged with the loss after allowing six runs and striking out five. Sophomore
Jonathan Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's) worked two innings before classmate
Chase Stopyra (Ocean, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) hurled the final three frames.
