Jamie Abell (Glenn Dale, Md./Elizabeth Seton) smacked a pair of home runs as Gettysburg College extended its win streak to eight games with a pair of non-conference wins at Hood College.

Steph Zengel (High Bridge, N.J./North Hunterdon) each posted three hits in a 10-1 victory in the opener. In the nightcap, Tighe and Abell combined for five runs and seven RBI, while Zengel and freshman
Wendy Folfas (Westminster, Md./McDonogh School) went a combined 7-for-7 in an 11-0 win.

Aileen Reilly (Huntington Station, N.Y./St. Anthony's) teamed up to allow only three hits to the Blazers in the sweep.
Gettysburg brought in two runs in its first at bat of game one with Tighe and Abell both coming around to score after each tallying singles. Hood picked up a run in the bottom of the second, but the Bullets padded the lead with two more runs in the third. Tighe came around to score on a single by Abell, pushing the Bullet senior past
Mandy Wilson '02 for the program record in runs scored. Abell scored on a sacrifice fly to make it 4-1.
Tighe walked to lead off the fifth and scored on a single by Zengel. Five more runs came across in the sixth, including two on a single by Tighe and two more on Abell's first home run of the season.
Treanor did not allow a hit until the sixth inning. The Blazers scored an earned run in the second on a bases-loaded groundout, but the Gettysburg hurler would not allow another runner to reach second until the final inning. She allowed only two base knocks and struck out three on the way to improving to 9-2 this season.
Tighe finished 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBI. Abell was 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, while Zengel was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
The story was much the same in game two with the top of the lineup continuing to shine. Tighe, Abell, and Zengel each drove in a run during a four-run second inning. Tighe also stole her 21st base of the season, moving her into a tie with Wilson for Gettysburg's single-season record.
With Reilly mowing down Hood's lineup at the plate, the Bullets quickly pulled away. The visitors tacked on two more runs in the fourth before adding five in the fifth. Tighe plated two with a single before Abell punched her second longball of the day to drive in three during the final frame.
Tighe finished 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. She now stands as the program's all-time leader in runs scored with 147. Abell scored a pair of runs and drove in four RBI, while Zengel was 4-for-4 with two RBI. Folfas went 3-for-3 with a run scored.
Reilly allowed only one hit in the game – a first-inning single through the left side. She fanned a pair of batters and improved to 9-1 this season
Gettysburg turns right back around with a non-conference doubleheader at home against Lebanon Valley College tomorrow at 3 p.m.
