Box Score 2 GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team wrapped up a pair of sweeps on Saturday inside Bream Gym, including winning its Centennial Conference opener against Ursinus College.
Gettysburg (8-5, 1-0 CC), which has won six of its last seven matches, easily handled Ursinus (5-7, 0-1 CC) with scores of 25-12, 25-17, and 25-10. The Bullets trailed only in the second set and finished the contest with just seven hitting errors. The hosts posted nine aces and seven team blocks as well.
Junior
Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) posted eight kills and nine digs, while sophomore
Maddie Weikert (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) notched seven kills without an error in 13 attempts. Sophomore
Lauren Godshalk (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) totaled five kills and four blocks.

Katherine Gilbert (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) put up 13 digs and senior
Alesha Miller (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) tallied 10 digs. Sophomore setter
Stephanie Blair (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) contributed 24 assists, two aces, and eight digs.
Gettysburg finished out the day by taking down Hood (5-7) in three sets 25-19, 25-21, and 25-18. The Bullets' defense shined against the Blazers as five players reached double-figure digs.
Bergin picked up a double-double with a match-high 16 kills and 10 digs. Blair narrowly missed her third career triple-double, finishing two kills shy with eight kills, 30 assists, and 11 digs. Senior
Joosje Grevers (Westport, Conn./Staples) and Godshalk each finished with seven kills.
Gilbert led the defense with 18 digs, while Miller and senior
Hannah Bentz (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) each contributed 10 digs.
Gettysburg travels to Marymount University for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m.
