Alex Kaslander (Verona, N.J./Verona) and
Cam Stewart (Sydney, Australia/Newington School) scored 20 points apiece, leading the Gettysburg College men's basketball team to a 65-59 Centennial Conference (CC) victory at Ursinus College Thursday evening.

The Bullets (11-3, 6-1 CC) trailed by as much as 12 midway through the first half but closed the period on an 18-0 run and would lead the rest of the way. Kaslander keyed the rally with 10 points, including eight in a row at one point.

Sophomore guard
Matt England (Warrington, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) added his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for Gettysburg while junior forward
Cody Kiefer (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists. In addition, junior guard
Pete Christ (Pittstown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) became just the 12th player in school history to make 100 career 3-pointers.

Kaslander reached a career-high in scoring while Stewart posted his third 20-point game of the season.
Gettysburg continued its best start since the 2008-09 squad opened 12-2.

Brian Rafferty scored 18 points to lead Ursinus (6-8, 2-5 CC) while Remi Janicot posted nine points and 14 rebounds for the Bears.

After a sluggish start in which they missed their first nine field-goal attempts, the Bullets trailed for most of the first half. Ursinus led by as much as 12 on three occasions, the last coming on a Janicot lay-up with 7:01 to go that made it 27-15. But that's when the Bullets embarked on their big run, which was jumpstarted by a trio of 3-pointers.

Stewart connected from beyond the arc with 6:46 showing before Kaslander followed up with a pair of triples. Kaslander trimmed the deficit to one (27-26) with another jumper before England gave the Bullets their first lead when he hit a pair of free throws with 3:56 left.

Another bucket from Kaslander and a 3-ball from Stewart capped the run and gave the Orange and Blue a 33-27 lead at the break. Kaslander hit 6-of-8 shots to lead the Bullets with 15 points in the opening period.

Ursinus kept it close in the second half and never allowed its deficit to reach double digits. The Bears pulled to within three on a Malik Draper lay-up with 16:59 showing, and it was a four-point game with 10:16 left following an Eric Williams 3-pointer. However, the Bullets answered with a trey from England and a jumper from junior forward
Tanner Kirkpatrick (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) to assume its largest lead of the night (54-45) with 9:12 remaining.

The Bears pulled to within 57-54 following a 5-0 spurt with 3:44 to go. However, the Bullets held Ursinus to five points the rest of the way. After a big put-back from Kiefer with 2:00 remaining, Stewart salted the victory at the foul line, where he was 5-for-6 in the final 1:22.

Gettysburg, which is in second place in the Centennial Conference standings, caps its 10-day, five-game stretch on Saturday, when it visits Muhlenberg College in a conference match-up starting at 4 p.m.
