Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Wes Brooks hit a leaner from the right elbow with 1.4 seconds left and McDaniel College scored five points in the final eight seconds to stun Gettysburg, 67-65, in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Wednesday evening in Bream Gym.

The Bullets (13-5, 8-3 CC), who led by as much as 16 in the first half and by 12 at halftime, led 65-62 after senior center
Kevin Gladstone (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) converted a conventional 3-point play with 21 seconds left. But Josh McWilliams answered with a 3-pointer for McDaniel before the Bullets committed a traveling violation with five seconds left while bringing the ball up the court, setting up Brooks' game-winner.

Gettysburg called a timeout but was unable to get off a clean shot before the buzzer.

Gladstone scored 20 points on 10-of-13 foul shooting in 27 minutes off the bench for the Bullets, who lost their second straight game after winning their previous five. Sophomore guard
Matt England (Warrington, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) added 13 points while making 8-of-9 free throws.

Gettysburg shot 81.3 percent (26-for-32) at the foul line, posting a season-high for free throws made.

Tim Stewart scored a career-high 34 points on 15-of-20 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds for McDaniel (8-9, 5-6 CC). Brooks finished with 14 points while McWilliams netted 10 points.

Gettysburg trailed just once in the first half, when Stewart dropped in a lay-up with 16:33 left in the period to make it 8-7. But the Bullets answered with a 7-0 run to take the lead for the remainder of the stanza. England and Gladstone each hit a pair of free throws before sophomore guard
Alex Kaslander (Verona, N.J./Verona) nailed a 3-pointer to make it 14-8 with 12:03 left in the period.

Gettysburg continued to pull away later in the half, and an 8-0 run made it 22-10 with 8:20 on the clock. Gladstone scored the first five points of the spurt, capped by a conventional 3-point play, before sophomore forward
Cam Stewart (Sydney, Australia/Newington College) knocked down a triple.

The Bullets' lead swelled to 16 (30-14) following a 3-for-3 trip at the foul line from England, and Gettysburg would lead 40-28 at the half.

McDaniel began to chip away in the second half, and a 7-0 Green Terror run tied the game at 44-all with 13:19 left. However, the Bullets answered with a 9-2 run to open up a seven-point advantage with 10:29 remaining. Gladstone keyed the run, first finding England in the right corner for a 3-pointer before scoring the next four points himself.

The see-saw affair continued when McDaniel scored the next five points to make it 53-51 in favor of the Bullets. Tim Stewart would carry the Terror down the stretch, scoring six straight points for his team including a lay-up with 2:39 left that tied the game again (57-57).

Brooks drained a 3-pointer from the right corner with 1:50 left to give McDaniel just its second lead (60-58) of the night before a Gladstone put-back made it 60-all with 1:31 remaining. Junior forward
Tanner Kirkpatrick (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) put the Bullets up 62-60 after hitting a pair of free throws before Tim Stewart tied it again with a driving lay-up with 31 seconds left.

At the other end of the floor, England found a cutting Gladstone in the right post. Gladstone converted the lay-up while drawing a foul before making it 65-62 with his free throw, setting up McDaniel's rally.
