Emma Christie (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich) poured in a career-high six goals and senior
Abby Baigelman (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) totaled eight points as sixth-ranked Gettysburg College broke open a close game for a 17-10 win at Stevenson University on Thursday.
In a game that was delayed one day due to storms, Stevenson (0-2) jumped out to the early lead with Brady Heher finding the net at 25:49. Heher tallied four of her team's first five goals as the hosts led 5-3 with 16:42 remaining in the first half.
Christie started an offensive explosion for Gettysburg (2-0), which tallied 11 of the next 12 goals. She scored off a feed from Baigelman at 11:19 and then the Bullet defense went to work, forcing turnovers on each of Stevenson's next five possessions.
Senior
Emily Tropsa (Darien, Conn./Darien) tied the game with 3:12 to go before the break, but the Mustangs answered right back with Hollie Larrimore putting the hosts in front 6-5 with just over two minutes on the first-half clock.
That's when the Bullets unloaded on the Mustangs, scoring the final two goals of the first period and then putting up seven more to start the second. Christie and Baigelman fueled the run by combining for the first five goals. Christie scored her sixth and final goal to end the surge and make it 14-6 with 22:53 remaining. The lead remained at least seven the rest of the way.
Christie tripled her previous personal high for goals, while Baigelman finished one point shy of her career high by tossing in four goals and dishing out four assists. Junior
Caroline Jaeger (Hampton, N.J./North Hunterdon) scored a career-high three goals and grabbed five draw controls. Tropsa finished with a pair of tallies, three caused turnovers, and three draw controls, while senior
Amanda Borucki (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) surpassed 100 career points with a goal and two assists.

Maggie Connolly (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) compiled five ground balls and five draw controls for the Bullets. Sophomore
Cassie Smith (Phoenix, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) logged three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
Junior
Shannon Keeler (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) and freshman
Bailey Pilder (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) each played a half in goal. Keeler posted one save in the opening period, while Pilder came up with a pair of stops in the final half.
Stevenson goalie Maggie Lawder recorded a dozen saves. Heher paced the Mustagns offensively with five goals and Larrimore added a pair of scores.
Gettysburg makes its home debut against Montclair State University on Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m.
