NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Three members of the Gettysburg women's lacrosse team have been named to the All-Metro Region team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), released on Friday.
Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley),
Ally Kennedy (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) and
Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) earned first-team accolades.
Daly, a senior attacker, is an all-region performer for the third time, earning her third straight first-team nod. The Centennial Conference (CC) Attacker of the Year and three-time first-team All-CC honoree, she has started all 20 games and leads the team with 64 goals, 31 assists and 95 points. She has also added 19 caused turnovers and 34 ground balls. She has registered six or more points in nine games this season, including a career-high eight goals against Tufts on Mar. 18.
Kennedy, a sophomore defender, is making her first all-region appearance after being named second-team all-conference. Appearing in all 20 games with 10 starts, she leads the team with 22 caused turnovers and 37 grounds balls. She has five games with multiple caused turnovers and six games with three or more ground balls.
Passarello, a senior attacker, is making her first all-region appearance after being tabbed first-team all-conference. Starting all 20 games, she ranks second on the team with 40 goals and 50 points. She has 11 games with multiple goals, including seven of the last eight outings. She scored a season-high five goals in the second round NCAA tournament game on Sunday at MIT. She is also second on the team with 81 draw controls.
The Bullets (14-6, 8-1 CC), who fell 14-12 in the semifinals game at Franklin & Marshall, advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament with wins over Husson and MIT last weekend. Gettysburg travels to Tufts this weekend and will play the host and fourth-ranked Jumbos on Saturday. Game time is 10:30 a.m.
