Box Score 2 ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Steph Zengel (High Bridge, N.J./North Hunterdon) began her assault on the program's all-time record lists as the Gettysburg College softball team split a Centennial Conference doubleheader at Muhlenberg College on Saturday.
Gettysburg (13-3, 1-1 CC) won the opening game 8-2 with Zengel going 3-for-3 and taking over the program's career lead in doubles. The Bullets were unable to hold a four-run lead in the nightcap as Muhlenberg (7-13, 1-1 CC) walked off with a 6-5 victory.
Zengel, who came into the game ranked among the program's top 10 in 11 different categories, wasted no time in taking over the doubles mark, smashing her 46th career two-bagger in the top of the first inning and passing former record holder

Wendy Folfas (Westminster, Md./McDonogh School) for the game's first run.
The Bullets knocked three doubles and scored three runs in the second inning. Senior
Meghan Hisgen (East Northport, N.Y./Commack) led off the inning with a double to right-center for her 100th career hit. Hisgen scored on a double by junior
Sam Misurell (Franklin Park, N.J./Bishop George Ahr) two batters later. Another two-bagger by freshman
Meredith Taylor (Hamilton, N.J./Northern Burlington) plated Misurell and the freshman came around to score on a single by junior
Jamie Abell (Glenn Ridge, Md./Elizabeth Seton) to make it 4-0.
Muhlenberg scored single runs in the third and sixth to slice the deficit in half going into the final frame. The Bullets blew the game open with four runs in the top of the seventh, highlighted by a solo home run by Zengel and a two-run double by Misurell.
Zengel finished 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs, and one RBI. Abell tallied three hits, while Folfas, Hisgen, and Misurell all tallied two base knocks. Misurell accounted for three RBI.
Sophomore
Aileen Reilly (Huntington Station, N.Y./St. Anthony's) picked up the win after allowing two runs on five hits and striking out two.
Offense was a commodity early in game two with each team managing one run through the first five innings of play.
The Bullets put up four runs in the sixth with half coming on a triple to right by Abell. A single by sophomore
Mykaela Twitchell (Cumberland, Maine/Greely) scored Abell to make it 5-1.
The Mules answered with four runs in the home half of the sixth. The Mules quickly loaded the bases and after two runs came home, Taylor Trifiolis tied the game with a two-run single up the middle.
After Gettysburg came up empty in the top of the seventh, Muhlenberg advanced a runner to second base on a walk and sacrifice and Karissa Astrella plated the winning run with a single to center field.
Twitchell went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Abell picked up two hits, two runs, and two RBI. Zengel posted another hit to extend her hitting streak to 13 games. She is just five base knocks shy of
Melissa Tighe's '15 career record of 190 and she is six RBI shy of
Mandy Wilson's '02 program record of 120.
Reilly took the loss after allowing three runs in 1.2 innings of relief. Freshman
Morgan Clauser (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington) started the game and allowed one run on four hits in five innings.
Gettysburg hosts a non-conference twinbill with Hood College on Tuesday, March 29, at 3 p.m.
