GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Muhlenberg built a 16-point second-half lead, then held off a late Gettysburg run to hand the Bullets a 68-61 loss in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Thursday evening in Bream Gym.

Mlynue Reeves (Washington, D.C./Church Farm School [Pa.]) paced the Bullets, posting his first career double-double on 17 points and a career-high 13 rebounds while tying another career-best with four blocked shots. Senior forward
Cody Kiefer (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) added 14 points, seven assists, and six rebounds for Gettysburg (4-10, 3-4 CC).
Nick Rindock scored 15 points to lead the Mules (8-4, 4-3 CC) while Jon Schreer contributed 12 points. John Hunter also logged a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds coming off the bench for the Mules.
Muhlenberg led 64-48 with 2:38 left before the Bullets reeled off a 13-2 run, capped by a put-back from Reeves with 17 seconds left that pulled his team to within five. However, Schreer hit a pair of free throws two seconds later to seal the win for the Mules.
The Bullets jumped to a quick start, outscoring the Mules 8-2 over the opening four minutes. However, Muhlenberg would answer with a 16-3 run over the next 6:38 to assume a seven-point (18-11) with 9:14 left in the period.
The visitors bumped their lead to 13 with 2:36 left before the Bullets scored five straight points on a Kiefer jumper and a 3-pointer from freshman guard
Nick Lord (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) to cut the deficit to eight. But Schreer hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Mules a 31-20 lead at the intermission.
Muhlenberg extended its lead to 16 (40-24) with 16:01 left, but Gettysburg answered with an 11-4 run to draw to within nine on a 3-pointer from senior guard

Tanner Kirkpatrick (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) with 9:40 left cut it eight, but that's as close as the Bullets would get. A 12-4 Mule surge pushed their lead back to 16 before Gettysburg's late run.
The Bullets conclude their five-day, three-game stretch on Saturday, when they visit Ursinus College at 3 p.m. in another Centennial Conference affair.
