Seven Bullets Score a Goal

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Seven different Bullets scored a goal as the Gettysburg College women's soccer team defeated Bryn Mawr 8-0 in a Centennial Conference (CC) match Friday evening at Clark Field.

Sophomore Charlotte Cenatiempo (Weston, Conn./Weston) scored two goals for the Bullets (5-2-2, 3-1 CC), who posted the team's highest scoring output since an 8-1 victory over Susquehanna on Sept. 4, 2010. It was also the most goals scored by Gettysburg versus a Centennial Conference opponent since an 8-0 win at Washington College on Oct. 12, 2002.

Junior Samantha Esposito (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) added one goal and one assist for Gettysburg, which owned a 49-2 shot advantage.

Freshman Kerry Sammon (Pearl River, N.Y./Academy of the Holy Angels) turned aside a pair of shots to earn her third shutout of the season for the Bullets.

Leah Baer made 19 saves for the Owls (0-7, 0-3 CC).

Junior Lauren Miesemer (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) put the Bullets on the scoreboard in the fifth minute with her third goal of the season before senior Maddie Heaney (Allendale, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) finished off an Esposito cross in the ninth minute. Senior Shannon Brady (Glen Head, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) struck midway through the opening period before junior Nicole Crofton (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) finished off the first-half scoring in the 39th minute.

Esposito got into the scoring column with a 54th-minute tally before sophomore Isabel Klatt (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) connected for her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 69th minute to make it 6-0.

Cenatiempo provided the finishing touches, scoring in the 83rd minute before rebounding home a free kick off the foot of senior Krissy Bradley (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) with 39 ticks showing.

Gettysburg returns to the pitch on Wednesday, when it visits third-ranked College of New Jersey at 7:30 p.m. in a non-conference match.
