BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team swept past host Bryn Mawr College in three sets in a Centennial Conference meeting Saturday evening.
Gettysburg (13-2, 3-1 CC) downed Bryn Mawr (6-8, 0-3 CC) with scores of 25-6, 25-18, and 25-19. The Bullets opened with the first seven points on the way to a rout in the second set. The Owls stayed within striking distance in the final two sets and led 16-15 in the finale. Gettysburg closed the match with a 10-3 run.
The Orange and Blue hit .284 on the attack with only seven hitting errors. Sophomore
Allie Stranick (Havertown, Pa./Merion Mercy) led a well-balanced attack with seven kills. Freshman
Jordyn Horowitz (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) and sophomore
Faith Adams (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) each posted six kills, while sophomore
Sophie Gelling (West Chester, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) posted five kills and six total blocks.
Gettysburg's three setters combined for 20 assists and nine digs. Junior
Melissa Tringali (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) led the defense with 11 digs.
The Bullets visit York (Pa.) College for a non-conference contest on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
