Match Summary
Set 1: Gettysburg led by as many as six in the opening set, including at 13-7 following an attack error by Holz. The margin stood at five (16-11) after a block by Higgins and junior
Faith Adams (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough), but NYU caught fire and erupted for a 14-2 run to close out the victory.
Set 2: The Violets opened with the first three points and jumped ahead 9-2 on an ace by Ausmus. Gettysburg pulled to three with four quick points, but that would be as close as the Bullets would get the rest of the way. A trio of kills by Stranick helped close the deficit down to four before a set-clinching kill by Ausmus.
Set 3: NYU saved its best hitting performance for last, hitting 32.5 percent of its attempts for a match-high 16 kills in the final set. The Violets led throughout after the Bullets tallied the opening point and closed out the win with four-straight points.
