How It Happened…
  • First Half: It was a low shooting affair for both teams in the opening half. Muller took the lone shot on goal at the 25:23 marker that was turned aside by Zach Matik. Just over a minute later, Muhic made a stop to keep it a 0-0 deadlock. With four minutes to go in the first half, Muhlenberg's Noah Pietila netted a goal to make it 1-0 that stayed that way heading into halftime.
  • Second Half: Muhlenberg collected its second goal of the game 58 seconds into the start of the second half. Gettysburg headed the ball off a throw-in by a Mules player that ended up going towards the frame and to the feet of Kevin Adams, who shot into the left side of the net for the 2-0 lead. The Bullets responded two minutes later as Muller sent a pass to Ward, who immediately dished off to Fife, who headed the ball into the back of the net to slice the deficit down to one. Gettysburg had some opportunities to tie the game up with header shots by freshman Nur Adhikarie (Cape Town, South Africa/Taft School) and Fife at the 64th and 79th-minute markers respectively, with Zach Matik making the save on the first shot and the defense making the stop on the second. Muhic made a pair of stops down the stretch to keep it a one-point game, but Gettysburg was unable to rally back, giving the hosts the victory.
