How it Happened
First Half: The Bullets marched down the field quickly as senior
Erika Muskus (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) drilled a shot on goal 1:19 into the opening half, but Kylie Wells turned it aside. Senior
Maddie Cunningham (Mount Airy, Md. Linganore) collected what ended up being her lone save of the game at the 13:34 marker as Flor Katz-Starr attempted the shot. Gettysburg notched three more shots on goal before one rocketed in by O'Shea with 13 minutes left until halftime. O'Shea took the loose ball that was well outside the box, took one dribble, and booted the left-footed shot that ended up going over Wells's fingers to put Gettysburg ahead 1-0. The score would remain 1-0 at halftime.
Second Half: The Bullets kept almost all of the action down in the Seahawks territory in the second half. The Orange and Blue pounded at the net, having taken 13 shots with a pair looking to hit into the back of the net in the final three minutes by Muskus and O'Shea. Gettysburg's defense limited St. Mary's to only two shots in the final half to secure its fifth shutout of the season.
