How It Happened…
- First Half: Gettysburg spent much of its time down in Ursinus' territory in the opening half. The Bullets, who outshot the Bears 9-2 in the half, had some great opportunities down the stretch. Gettysburg battled its way to the net and nearly secured a goal by corralling three headers, but one wide, blocked and then saved by Tyler Lewin in the final five minutes. Both teams headed into halftime with a 0-0 deadlock.
- Second Half: The Bullets continued to pressure the Bears' defense, and the aggressiveness helped propel three goals in the second half. The first goal came at the 52:46 marker as Molina slipped a pass to Gaynor on the right side who sent one to Adhikarie as he shot a high one into the net. Five minutes later, the Bullets struck again as the ball deflected towards Tennant, who one-touched it to Gaynor and immediately drilled the shot into the back of the net for the second tally. Giqunito took advantage of a Ursinus turnover just outside the box, dribbles closer to take a shot; it gets saved by the goalkeeper. Burden collected the rebound and netted his first goal of the season and the final one of the night, securing the 3-0 CC victory.
