How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Gettysburg opened the first with a strong attack on the offensive end with five shots and six penalty corners. The Bullets looked to add a goal in the final minute as freshman Morgan Cherry (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) shot was saved. Senior Lauren Beccaria (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) was right there to grab the rebound, turned and shot, but a defensive save was made by an LVC player. The Dutchmen were held without a shot in the frame.
  • Second Quarter: The Dutchmen opened the period intent on breaking the ice, forcing a penalty corner and a quick shot in the opening 2:25 of the frame that Besselman saved. Vadinsky broke through for Gettysburg with under three minutes to go as she collected her own rebound, took a few dribbles, and scored the first goal. Bertrando looked to add to the lead in the final minute as she took a forceful shot that hit the post.
  • Third Quarter: Gettysburg did not let up and continued to pound at the cage as Rhine blasted a long shot from the right side to register her first career goal 1:44 into the frame to make it 2-0. The Bullets finished with six shots and held LVC to none.
  • Fourth Quarter: The Orange and Blue dominated the fourth quarter, accounting for all five shots and three penalty corners.
By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg led in shots 24-1.
  • Gettysburg led in penalty corners 10-2.
