Gettysburg dominates Washington and earns sweep

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg kept Washington to less than 15 points in each of the three sets to easily earn the sweep.
 
THE LEADERS
Olivia Biggs (Winchester, Va./James Wood) led the Bullets in kills and blocks, tallying eight in both.
Kendall Erpenbeck (San Jose, Calif./Prospect) added 15 assists and three aces.
Chelsea O'Leary (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) had 12 digs on defense.
 
FOR THE FOES
• Courtney Maxwell had three kills for Washington.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the first set, Gettysburg ran out to a 12-2 early lead over Washington. The Shorewomen countered with a 6-2 run to bring them within six at 14-8, but the Bullets went 10-6 to bring them to set point, 24-14. A Shorewomen attack error gave the Bullets the first set.
• The second set saw the Bullets lead by as many as nine points. The Shorewomen's closest point margin was four, when they trailed 12-8. The Bullets got out to an 18-8 lead, though Washington managed another six points. Two Shorewomen attack errors brought the Bullets to set point, 24-14, and Olivia Biggs killed the ball for the set two win.
•  In the final set, Gettysburg quickly pushed forward to a 15-5 lead, and increased it to as much as 23-10. The Shorewomen grabbed two more points, but a block by Olivia Biggs and Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) won the match for the Bullets.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg doubled up on Washington in kills, 32-16 and digs 56-45.
• The Bullets tallied 13 blocks to Washington's two.
