Gettysburg suffers shutout against Haverford

THE SKINNY STORY
A Fords' goal in each half earned the shutout for Haverford over Gettysburg Saturday afternoon.

THE LEADERS
Sam Woolery (Media, Pa./Penncrest) led the Bullets in shots with two.
Emilia Saccento (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) made four saves in goal.
 
FOR THE FOES
• Dalia Bercow scored both of Haverford's goals.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
• The first quarter was scoreless for both teams. Hailey Rhine (Denver, Colo./St. Mary's Academy) had Gettysburg's first good look with a shot in the seventh minute, but Haverford's goalie Mary Smith knocked it out.
• The first goal of the game came from Bercow in the 18th minute, off a pass from Abigail Trapp.
• Neither team was able to convert in the third quarter. Andie Aloi (Towson, Md/Towson) had a shot on in the 42nd minute, but again Smith was there to prevent the goal.
• Bercow's second goal came in the 48th minute as she intercepted a ball from Delaney Snowden and knocked it in to give the Fords the 2-0 advantage.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Haverford held advantages in shots 12-7 and corners 6-4.
• Six of Haverford's shots were on goal, while four of Gettysburg's were on the mark.
