Gettysburg swept Ursinus to cap off the regular season competition.
THE LEADERS

Zanze Kuba-McCoy (Somerville, N.J/Somerville) registered a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.

Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) had a team-high seven aces.
•
Olivia Biggs (Winchester, Va./James Wood) put down seven blocks.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After
Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) killed the first ball for the Bullets, Huegel hit home six consecutive aces to give the Bullets a 7-0 lead. Gettysburg didn't relent until 9-1, where the Bears were able to get a point on a kill. The Bullets ran away with the set without much resistance, getting out to a fourteen point lead at set point, 24-10. A block by
Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) and Biggs won the first set for the Bullets.
• In the second set, the Bears and Bullets stayed much closer, tied as late as 12-all in the set. From there, the Bullets took off, going 11-3 to give them a 23-15 lead. The Bears grabbed two more points on a kill and block, before the Bullets hammered home the final two points of the set to put them up 2-0.
• In the final set, Gettysburg and Ursinus still remained close, with five ties and four lead changes. The teams were tied until 9-all, after which Gettysburg scored five straight points to give them a 14-10 lead. The Bears grabbed one point on a Bullets error, before Gettysburg went off again for eight straight points. The Bears managed two more points on the match, before Gettysburg won the final three balls for a 25-12 third set victory and 3-0 match win.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg had the advantage in digs 44-33 and kills 32-12.
• With this win, Gettysburg secures their spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs. Round one will begin on Wednesday.
NEXT UP
Gettysburg will return to action in their first playoff match at Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is yet to be determined.
