THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg held Muhlenberg off to record the sweep in the first game of Saturday's tri-match.

THE LEADERS
Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) and Kylie Ulrich (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the Bullets' offense with eight kills apiece.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg and Stevenson stayed within three for most of the first set, which had 11 ties and six lead changes. Gettysburg finally broke away on a kill by Zanze Kuba-McCoy that put the score at 22-17. The Mules grabbed the next three points to bring them within two, but the Bullets got to set point after another Kuba-McCoy kill and block, assisted by Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck). The Mules grabbed one more on a Bullets error, but Huegel killed the ball to win the set for the Bullets.
• The Bullets had a slight edge early in the second set, though the gap between the two teams was limited to a maximum of four points at 15-11. From there, the Bullets pulled ahead, going 8-6 to give themselves a 23-17 edge. A Kylie Ulrich kill put the Bullets at set point, and a Mules attack error gave Gettysburg the second set.
•  In the final set, the teams each went on their own run to make the score 5-4, with the Bullets leading. The teams traded points to make the score 8-6, Bullets, before Gettysburg snagged seven consecutive points to give them a nine-point lead, 15-6. The teams went point-for-point again to make the score 17-8, before the Mules went on a 10-6 run to bring them within five at 23-18. The Bullets got to match point off a Mules error, but a service error by the Bullets gave the Mules one more point to make the score 24-19. In the final serve, the Mules committed another error to complete the Gettysburg sweep.
