THE SKINNY STORY
After dropping the first set, Gettysburg battled to a second set victory and won the next two by more than 10 points each to defeat DeSales.

Kylie Ulrich (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the Bullets in kills with 16.

Zanze Kuba-McCoy (Somerville, N.J/Somerville) tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs.

• Madison Swift had nine kills for DeSales.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the first set, Gettysburg claimed the first point before DeSales grabbed the next eight to give them a seven-point edge early on. The teams went point-for-point the next six plays to make the score 11-4, before DeSales won the next six points to increase their lead to 16-4. The teams traded points back and forth to make the score 21-10. The Bullets won the next three points to reduce the Bulldogs' lead to nine, before a block and a kill got Desales back up to an 11-point lead at 23-12. A service ace by Grace Grandinetti gave them set point, and she aced the ball again to win the first set for the Bulldogs.
• In the second set, the teams stayed within four early on before marking a series of ties at 15, 16, and 17-all. After the 17-all knot, the Bullets blazed ahead, only allowing the Bulldogs one more point in the set. A 7-1 run brought the Bullets to set point at 24-18, and
Zanze Kuba-McCoy killed the ball to put the Bullets on the board.
• In set three, the score was tied at 4-all early on before the Bullets grabbed five consecutive points to give them a 9-4 edge. The teams went 5-5 to make the score 14-9, before Gettysburg went 9-1 to give them a 12-point lead, 23-11. The Bulldogs managed one more point on a block, before a Bullets kill and Bulldogs error gave Gettysburg the third set point and win, putting them ahead in the match 2-1.
• The final set saw the Bullets get out to a commanding 15-3 lead, one that they would not surrender for the rest of the match. The Bullets went 8-5 with the Bulldogs to carve out a 23-8 lead, and a Bulldogs error gave the Bullets match point. A final kill by
Kylie Ulrich put the game to bed for the Bullets.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg held the advantage in kills 48-28, while DeSales had the edge in digs 60-57.
• This game marked the first matchup between Gettysburg and DeSales.
