THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg led Randolph-Macon going into half, but Randolph-Macon kept the Bullets close in the next quarter, before Gettysburg pulled away in the fourth.
THE LEADERS

Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison),
Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East), and
Kylie Holcomb (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) each had 15 points for the Bullets.
• Szlosek also chipped in 13 rebounds, four steals and four assists.
FOR THE FOES
• Catherine Kagey was the only player in double digits for the Yellow Jackets, tallying 14 points and 10 rebounds.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Back and forth baskets by each team resulted in several early ties in the first quarter, the latest being at 16-all. A Randolph-Macon layup put the Yellow Jackets ahead by two. A jumper by Jane Elkins gave the Yellow Jackets a 20-16 lead, but Szlosek chipped in three points in the remaining minutes of the first quarter to keep the game within one point heading into the first quarter break.
• Gettysburg was able to create some separation in the second quarter, as a triple from Holcomb put them up 25-24, and two free throws by
Caitlyn Priore (Holland, Pa./Germantown Academy) made it 27-26. Two more three-pointers from Holcomb and a basket by the Yellow Jackets made the score 33-30 with two minutes left in the second. In the last two minutes, the Bullets registered baskets by four different shooters to make it 42-34 over Randolph-Macon going into halftime.
• No points were registered for the first four minutes of the third quarter, before Marisa Ziegler grabbed a fast break and made a layup to bring Randolph-Macon within six, at 42-36. Arnolie countered less than 15 seconds later with a jumper to bring the Bullets' lead back up to eight. A triple and two field goals from the Yellow Jackets brought them within one again with 2:44 left in the third quarter, but Priore and
AB Holsinger (Crozet, Va./Langley) each made jumpers to bring the Bullets back up by five. The Yellow Jackets finished the quarter with one made free throw, which made the game score 48-44 going into the final quarter.
• The first quarter opened by Holcomb hitting yet another three to bring the Bullets to 51-44, before Randolph-Macon countered with two layups. Holsinger added three more points on fast breaks to make it 56-48. Randolph-Macon hit an and-one play to bring them within five at 56-51, and three field goals brought them within one again, 58-57. Arnolie pulled the Bullets away with a jumper, and Holsinger hit a three to give the Bullets a little more breathing room. A layup by the Yellow Jackets kept them in it, 63-59, before Holsinger added another three points to make it 66-59 for the Bullets. The last points of the game came when Szlosek was sent to the line and knocked down both of her free throws, making the final score 68-59 for the Bullets.
THE INSIDE STORY

Kylie Holcomb hit five of her seven three-pointers, giving her the highest three-point percentage (71%) and the highest number of triples in the game.
• The Bullets shot 35.2% from the field goal range, while the Yellow Jackets were 40.3%.
• Gettysburg (propelled by Holcomb) hit 33.3% from outside the arc, while the Yellow Jackets were 27.3%.
