THE SKINNY STORY
Stevenson build a 14-point lead in the second half before holding off a furious Gettysburg rally in the waning minutes to escape with a 68-66 victory.

THE LEADERS
• Carl Schaller (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) led the Bullets with 21 points, including hitting four 3-pointers, to go with four rebounds and two assists.
• Elijah Williams (Washington, D.C./Sidwell Friends) added 21 points of his own as well as three rebounds.

FOR THE FOES
• McKale Williams paced the Mustangs with 20 points, including going 11-for-11 from the free-throw line.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• The two teams traded points over the game's first nearly seven minutes before an Antonello Baggi (Cremona, Italy/West Deptford [N.J.]) dunk gave Gettysburg a 13-11 lead with 13:06 showing and sparked a 12-2 run over the next 5:03, building a 10-point lead with 8:03 remaining in the first half. Baggi had five points during the stretch and the defense limited Stevenson to 1-for-11 shooting during the stretch.
• However, a KJ Holton jumper just over a minute later sparked a 15-3 counter that put the hosts in front by two at the break. The Bullets hit just one of their final nine shots in the half and turned the ball over four times.
• Trailing 28-26, Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./Saint Joseph Hammonton) hit a layup 32 seconds into the second half to tie the game. Two Max Pernetti (Oakland, N.J./Ramapo) free throws with 16:24 on the clock gave Gettysburg a 32-31 lead. Zach Bolgert and McKale Williams, however, responded with 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions that started a 13-2 run to put Stevenson up by 10 just 3:24 later.
• The Mustangs pushed the lead as large as 14 – the last coming at 54-40 with 8:33 to play. Two minutes later, Carl Schaller hit a triple to spark a 10-0 run and close to within four with 4:41 remaining. Stevenson stretched the lead back to eight with 2:51 showing. Trailing 60-52, Baggi and Schaller nailed treys around a Holter jumper to close back to 62-58 inside the final minute. A Schaller layup on the break trimmed the deficit to two before two Williams free throws at the other end pushed the lead back to four.
• An Elijah Williams pull-up 3-pointer made it a one-point game before two more McKale Williams free throws stretched the lead back to three with 12.5 seconds left. Elijah Williams drove for a quick dunk but Connor Walsh made it a 6-for-6 final minute from the stripe for Stevenson with 4.9 seconds on the clock. The Mustangs opted for to give the foul up three and Colin Farrell (Matawan, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) hit the front end with 3.3 seconds left and bounced the second attempt off the front of the rim but Stevenson came down with the board to escape.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Elijah Williams' 21 points were a career high while Carl Schaller reached 20 points for the fourth time in his career. The 21 points matched Schaller's career best.
• The team each had 38 rebounds. Gettysburg shot 42.1 percent from the floor while Stevenson connected on 20 of its 60 attempts from the floor.
• The Mustangs went 23-for-25 from the free-throw line. The Bullets were just 10 of 12.
