Beddick announces 2023 coaching staff

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Cory Beddick has announced that he has his coaching staff in place for the 2023 season.

The first-year coach brings a wealth of baseball knowledge to the Bullets for the upcoming season.

Jeremy Hefele joins Beddick as a full-time assistant coach with the program while Michael Festa and Brooks Warrenfeltz round out the coaching staff.

Hefele will serve primarily as the team's pitching coach, bringing collegiate head coaching experience to the Gettysburg staff.

He spent the 2022 season as the head coach at Clarks Summit University and was the interim head coach for the 2021 season at Cairn after serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Highlanders from 2018-20. He was also a head coach in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, guiding the Trenton Generals to the 2021 championship.

He was a four-year starting pitcher at Delaware Valley.

Festa rejoins Beddick on his Bullets staff after serving with him as an assistant at Washington (Md.) for the last five seasons.

Festa returned to his alma mater as an assistant baseball coach in the spring of 2018, where he helped the team to five straight winning seasons. Festa's primary focus at Washington was coaching the outfield. During his time at Washington, he coached five all-conference outfielders and one All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection. He also served as the team's first-base coach, assisted with in-game decisions, performed advanced scouting on opponents, helped with recruiting, and managed the team's social media accounts.

Festa graduated from Washington in 2014. He was a two-year player in 2012 and 2013, playing in 45 games in the infield and earning a spot on the CC Academic Honor Roll in 2013.

Warrenfeltz rejoins his former skipper in an assistant coach role. The owner and operator of Lumber to Leather, which provides private baseball and softball instruction in Frederick County, Warrenfeltz played for Beddick at Hood College. He has spent the last three years as a head coach for both KMS Baseball Academy and Baseball Factory.

He was an all-conference third baseman for Beddick at Hood in 2015 and 2016 and four-year MAC all-sportsmanship team award recipient. He holds the distinction of recording the program's first hit. He was a career .317 hitter.

Over the summer, Beddick became just the sixth skipper to lead the Bullets' baseball program since 1913, returning to his alma mater to take over the program in which he played. Beddick served the last five seasons as the head coach at Centennial Conference-foe Washington College. Prior to that, he started the baseball program at Hood College, serving as head coach from 2013-17.

The 2023 season opens at Mary Washington on Monday, Feb. 20. Game time is 3 p.m.
