Shenandoah tops Gettysburg in season opener

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg prevented the shutout with a goal in the waning seconds, falling 4-1 at Shenandoah in the season opener for both teams.

THE LEADERS
• Andie Aloi (Towson, Md./Towson) was the lone goal-scorer for the Bullets.
• Hailey Rhine (Denver, Colo./St. Mary's Academy) provided the assist.

FOR THE FOES
• Farren Winter notched two goals for the Hornets.
• Elizabeth Ranberger contributed one goal and one assist.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Kelsey Jones found Farren Winter for a 1-0 lead four minutes into the second period. The Hornets racked up three more goals over the next 25 minutes of play, scoring in the 22nd, 24th and 45th minutes.
• With four seconds left, Hailey Rhine (Denver, Colo./St. Mary's Academy) found Andie Aloi for the lone Gettysburg goal.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Shenandoah finished with advantages of 18-4 in shots and 6-3 in penalty corners.
