Gettysburg downed Gallaudet 3-0 in their first match of the Knights Invitational.
THE LEADERS

Kylie Ulrich (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the Bullets' attack with nine kills.

Chelsea O'Leary (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) contributed 19 digs on defense and three service aces.

Sophie Nasir (Covina, Calif./St. Lucy's Priory) lended 14 assists and seven kills.
THE FOES
• Emily Wright tallied nine kills for the Bison.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg and Gallaudet notched seven ties early in the set, the final being a knot 10-all before the Bullets pulled away. They went 13-4 to bring the set to 23-14, and a Bullets kill put them at set point. The Bison brought it within nine off a Bullets attack error, but a kill by
Sophie Nasir won the first set for the Bullets.
• Gallaudet led early in the second set, gaining a lead as big as 6-3 before the Bullets scored three successive points to tie the set at 6-all. Four more ties followed, with the last being an 11-all score. The teams stayed close with a 13-8 run that produced a Bullets lead of 24-19. A Bison kill made it 24-20, but
Brooke Lauletta (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown East) killed the set-winning ball to put a second tally in the Bullets' column.
• In the third set, Gallaudet again emerged with the lead early, pulling ahead after a 6-all tie to a lead as big as 15-10. A 6-1 run by the Bullets tied the score at 16-all, and three more ties were produced as the teams kept battling, the last being at 21-21. The Bullets went 3-1 to bring them to match point, and
Sophie Nasir again had the set winning point, this time winning the match as well.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg had the advantage in kills 37-29 and digs 55-47.
•
Olivia Biggs (Winchester, Va./James Wood) and
Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) each had four blocks for the Bullets.
