THE SKINNY STORY
After a back-and-forth first half, strong Gettysburg runs in the second half carved out a sizable lead by the time it was all said and done.
THE LEADERS

Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) notched her first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
•
Meghan Barbera (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) was one of three Bullets in double-digits, adding 10 points of her own. She also collected five rebounds.
•
Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) rounded out Gettysburg's top scorers, putting up 10 of her own, as well as three rebounds.

• Margaux Eripret led the Mules with 10 points and eight rebounds.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Mackenzie Szlosek got the Bullets on the board within the first 20 seconds, and the Mules responded a minute later. Baskets by three different scorers helped the Bullets to an 8-5 lead with 5:19 showing, before Avery McNulty knocked down two at the line to bring Muhlenberg within one. Gettysburg responded with an 11-7 run to hold the Mules to 19-14 at the end of the first.
• An early 4-1 push in the second widened Gettysburg's lead to eight, before Muhlenberg went on their own 8-2 run to bring the game within three with 5:31 left in the half. A
Kylie Holcomb (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) gave the Bullets some space, 27-22, until Emily Vaughan netted a triple almost two minutes later to make it a one-possession game. Szlosek converted on a three-point play to bring the lead back to five, but a 4-2 ending run by Muhlenberg kept the score close, 32-29 going into half.
• Several misses on each side finally yielded to a
Meghan Barbera jumper with 3:45 already elapsed in the third quarter. Muhlenberg responded on the next possession to keep it within three. A 9-2 Gettysburg run gave them their first double-digit lead of the game, 43-33 with 3:17 to play. Muhlenberg put together a 7-4 run to end the third down by seven.

Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) canned a jumper over two minutes into the fourth period to widen Gettysburg's gap back to nine, and Szlosek knocked down a trey over a minute later to give Gettysburg a 12-point edge. The Mules would go on a 4-3 run to finish out the game, 55-44.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg shot 35.7% from the field goal range, while Muhlenberg cashed in on 27.6% of their field goals.
• Gettysburg hit 2 of 13 three-point attempts, while Muhlenberg went 4-for-20.
