Franklin & Marshall scored a pair of first-half goals to topple Gettysburg 2-0 in a key game for the conference playoff standings in the final week of the regular season.

• Mikaela Timmermans opened the scoring for the Diplomats just 6 minutes, 28 seconds into the game.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the seventh minute, Mikaela Timmermans got a left foot on a long pass from Alex Wilson to stake the hosts to an early 1-0 lead. Alison Francis doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, one-timing a blast from Riley Durborow. Gettysburg's best chance came in the final minute of the opening stanza when a
Payton Waller (Holly Springs, N.C./Holly Springs) blast from distance bounced off the bottom of the crossbar and out.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Franklin & Marshall finished with a 22-4 advantage in shots and 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
• Gettysburg earned the No. 7 ranking in the NCAA Div. III Region V regional rankings earlier in the day. The Diplomats were ranked fifth.
• Coupled with other results, both teams clinched a playoff berth for the Centennial Conference tournament next week. Franklin & Marshall currently sits third and is in position to host a first-round game on Tuesday while the Bullets dropped to fifth and would need a win on Saturday and help to host the opening game.
