THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored three second-half goals to break out from a scoreless first 64 minutes and topple Ursinus 3-1 in the regular-season finale.
THE LEADERS
•
Jalia Musah (Garu Tempane, Ghana/Millbrook School [N.Y.]) scored her first goal of the season to put the capper on a three-goal outburst in a 12-minute stretch.
•
Elise Fox (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) broke the seal on the outburst for the Bullets.
FOR THE FOES
• Alex Chalmers found the back of the net for the Bears.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Despite Gettysburg carrying play throughout most of the night, neither team could find the back of the net until a Bullets corner kick in the 65th minute.
Elise Fox tracked down a ball that had been knocked out to the top of the box and buried it in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later,
Elodie Reeves' (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) corner kick went right to the head of
Jordan Weinberg (Jacksonville Beach, Fla./Winchester [Mass.]), who headed it home to double the lead.
• Another corner kick in the 77th minute generated numerous opportunities on the back post before
Payton Waller's (Holly Spring, N.C./Holly Spring) shot-and-save bounced right back to
Jalia Musah's foot and she knocked it home for the 3-0 lead. Paige Flaugh had a free kick in the 81st minute that made its way to Alex Chalmers, who was able to finish for the final margin.
