THE FACTS
Gettysburg (23-4) 3, Franklin & Marshall (19-7) 2
What: Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball tournament semifinal
When: Friday, Nov. 10
Where: Gettysburg, Pa.

THE SKINNY STORY
In a 2-1 hole to third-seeded Franklin & Marshall, second-seeded Gettysburg did not trail in the fourth set to force a winner-take-all fifth set. With a championship-match berth on the line, the Bullets found themselves trailing 9-6 in the deciding set before scoring five straight and capturing the victory, 15-10.

THE LEADERS
• Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) knocked down a career-best 23 kills and hit .462 on the night to lead the Gettysburg attack.
• Chelsea O'Leary (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) steadied the defense with 20 digs to go with a pair of aces.

FOR THE FOES
• Gianna Mangiamele led four Diplomats in double-figure kills with 17.
• Coco Shultz recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 17 digs.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a back-and-fourth first set that featured four ties and four lead changes, a Chelsea O'Leary ace gave Gettysburg a 14-13 edge before back-to-back Alycen Radolovic kills and a knockdown from Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) stretched the lead to 17-13. Franklin & Marshall closed to within 20-18 before Radolovic and Kylie Ulrich (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) put down kills coupled with two Callie Pidoriano (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) aces to reach set point. Back-to-back errors gave the Bullets a 25-19 first-set win.
• The second set started much the same way as the first set. Tied at 3-all, Gianna Mangiamele knocked down a pair of kills and the Diplomats did not trail the rest of the set. The lead grew as large as 12-6 on an attacking error and hovered between three and six until three straight F&M kills made it a 24-16 score. After a Holtz kill staved off set point, Rei Baker knocked down the final kill of a 25-17 win to tie the match at 1-all.
• The third set brought another four ties and two lead changes early. Gettysburg took a 12-9 lead on a Brooke Lauletta (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown East) kill before Coco Shultz served eight straight points to turn the three-point deficit into a five-point lead. She capped the run with three straight aces en route to the 25-20 Diplomat victory.
• Gettysburg built a lead as large as five at 11-6 in the fourth set before Franklin & Marshall roared back with five straight to tie the set at 11-all. Radolovic halted the momentum and put the Bullets back in front with two straight kills. She later put down another pair back-to-back to stretch the lead to 20-15. Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) stretched the lead to 23-17 en route to a 25-20 win to force the deciding set.
• Mangiamele bookended a Radolovic kill to give the Diplomats an early 2-1 edge. Holtz and Mangiamele traded knock downs before an Emily Dean ace and Baker kill gave the visitors a 5-2 lead. After an exchange of points, Lauletta pulled Gettysburg back to within 9-7 with a kill and Radolovic followed with two more to even the score at 9-all. A Lauletta ace put the hosts in front by one. An error and Shultz kill kept it a one-point margin before Holtz knocked down another kill and Huegel tacked on another for a 13-10 lead. After an error brought it to match point, Radolovic went cross-court for the winner.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Kyle Ulrich finished with 14 kills.
• The 23 kills were the most by any Gettysburg player this season.
• Kendall Erpenbeck (San Jose, Calif./Prospect) and Sophie Nasir (Covina, Calif./St. Lucy's Priory) contributed 26 and 23 assists, respectively. Nasir added three aces and four digs while Erpenbeck had seven digs.
• Brooke Lauletta added seven kills and 17 digs to go with an ace and block solo.
• It was the first home conference tournament match for the Bullets since 2008 when Gettysburg defeated the Diplomats in the semifinals before falling to Haverford in the championship match.
• Sunday's championship match appearance will mark Gettysburg's first appearance in the title tilt since 2011 and the Orange and Blue will look for its first crown since 2005.
