LANCASTER, Pa. –
Nate Williams (Morganville, N.J./St. John Vianney), a sophomore on the Gettysburg men's basketball team, has been named Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 13-19.
Williams led the Bullets (3-1) to a 2-0 week, averaging 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.0 block and 3.5 3-pointers per game. In a 78-70 win over Stevenson on Wednesday, he scored 15 points on 5 of 11 shooting to go with eight rebounds and four steals. In an 88-87 double-overtime victory at York (Pa.) on Saturday, Williams netted a career-high 26 points, hitting 6 of 13 from the floor, including going 5-for-7 from long range. He was also 9-for-9 from the free-throw line to go with four rebounds and two assists. For the week, he shot 45.8 percent from the floor, including 7-for-14 from 3-point range, and 92.3 percent from the line.
For the season, he is averaging 14.3 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game. He has connected on a team-best 11 3-pointers and is shooting 41.5 percent from the floor. He also has six assists, 10 steals and four blocks.
Gettysburg opens the CC schedule at No. 12 Johns Hopkins on Tuesday. Game time is 8 p.m.
