RELOADING: Gettysburg only loses one player from its primary rotation a year ago. Elijah Williams averaged 9.7 points per game and is the only of the main contributors not back to the lineup in 2023-24. Carl Schaller (14.0 ppg) and Jordan Stafford (11.5) both averaged double digits last season. Schaller connected on 45 3-pointers and 40.6 percent from the floor overall and 34.1 percent from long range. Stafford hit 48.4 percent of his shots a year ago. Ryan McKeon (8.8 ppg), Antonello Baggi (7.8) and Nate Williams (7.5) rounded out the top six scorers a year ago.

LAST TIME OUT: The Fighting Muskies finished the 2022-23 season with a record of 1-24.

THE WORD ON MUSKINGUM: The Fighting Muskies lone win last season came by a 63-63 margin to Wilmington (Ohio) at home on Jan. 11. Muskingum also had four games decided by single digits, including a one-point home loss to Capital. Logan Stotzer led the Muskies in scoring last season, averaging 8.7 points per game as a freshman. DJ Donnell (7.5 ppg), Zaveon Croff (7.2) and Luken Hill (7.2) all also averaged more than 7.0 points per game. Croff and Hill both return to the lineup with Stotzer in 2023-24. Stotzer is the only returning player to start more than 17 games a year ago. After opening the season this weekend, Muskingum doesn't play again for 10 days, hosting La Roche on Nov. 21 as its only other game before Thanksgiving. The Fighting Muskies then play nine games between Nov. 29 and Dec. 22.

LAST TIME OUT: The Falcons finished the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 9-16.

THE WORD ON MESSIAH: The Falcons dropped their final five games last season to fall out of the MAC Commonwealth postseason race. Messiah allowed an average of 70.1 points per game while scoring an average of 65.1. The Falcons had three players average double figures last season but none of three return to the squad in 2023-24. Bryce Coletti and Evan Parker both return to the lineup after averaging 8.7 and 8.0 points per game, respectively. The duo combined for 49 starts in their 50 combined games played. Coletti also dished out 106 assists with just 65 turnovers. Messiah held a slight edge on the glass last season, outrebounding opponents 38.1-37.7. The Falcons, however, will have to replace the nearly 300 combined rebounds from Tyler Penley and Tim Edwards.

LAST TIME OUT: The Generals finished the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 18-8, falling to Roanoke 117-103 in four overtimes in the ODAC quarterfinals.
