THE SKINNY STORY
One game after stranding five runners in a 4-0 shutout loss to Mary Washington, Gettysburg turned the tables and pounded out 12 hits and scored five times in the top of the first en route to an 11-0, five-inning win in game two.

THE LEADERS
• Lauren O'Leary (Manasquan, N.J./Jackson Memorial) led the Bullets with three hits in the doubleheader, adding two RBIs and two runs scored.
• Jess Campana (Brick, N.J./St. John Vianney) added three knocks of her own.

FOR THE FOES
• Emma Schieda was 2-for-2 with a walk in the opener for the Eagles.
• Eric Shoop had two hits in game two.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Aminah Shakir led off the bottom of the first in game one with an infield single before moving to second on a groundout and scoring on a Emma Schieda double for a 1-0 lead.
• Both pitchers went to work from there. Caitlyn Burch retired 18 of the first 20 Bullets she faced while Megan Hughes (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge) allowed just one Eagle to reach base in the second, third and fourth innings.
• Nya Lloyd and Rayna Lloyd each singled to lead off the home fifth, putting runners at the corners. After a stolen base, an infield single by Kennedy Darling made it 2-0 with runners still at the corners. After getting the first out at the plate on a comebacker, Bridget Laychak singled home Darling and Grace Drury singled with two outs and the bases loaded to score Shakir for a 5-0 lead.
• Gettysburg loaded the bases in the top of the seventh on a Jess Campana single, hit batter and walk with one out but Burch got a strikeout and ground ball to preserve the shutout.
• In game two, Lauren O'Leary drew a leadoff walk before Campana singled. A Carlie Goldstein (Verona, N.J./Verona) walk loaded the bases. After a foul out, Allegra DeCandia (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) singled home O'Leary. Giovanna Komst (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) and Julia Smith (Marydel, Del./Queen Anne's County) followed with RBI singles of their own for a 3-0 lead. Olivia Moser (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) singled home DeCandia for a 4-0 lead and Bailey Quinn (Hanford, Calif./Robinson Secondary School [Va.]) lofted a sacrifice fly for a five-run top of the first.
• Campana singled with one out in the second before a Goldstein fielder's choice and Michaela Carroll (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) double made it a 6-0 game.
• Komst singled to start the third then moved to second on a sacrifice and third on a wild pitch before a Moser walk and second Quinn sacrifice fly pushed the advantage to 7-0. A two-run O'Leary home run extended the advantage to 9-0 and put Gettysburg in run-rule position.
• An error, two free passes, a passed ball and Moser RBI single stretched the advantage to 11-0 in the fourth.

THE INSIDE STORY
• The victory in game two was the 100th of head coach Brooke Kalman's career. She is 100-77-2 in five seasons as a collegiate head coach.
• Allie Cluster (Pasadena, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) recorded her first hit of the season in game one, accounting for one of the three Gettysburg hits.
• Paige Forry (Reading, Pa./Schuykill Valley) struck out seven in the five-inning complete game nightcap. She had just one walk and scattered five hits.
• Jess Campana, Giovanna Komst and Olivia Moser joined Lauren O'Leary with two hits in game two.
