THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg needed extra innings and the international tiebreaker to break a scoreless deadlock and win game one 2-0 before Ursinus came back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to forge the split, 3-1.

THE LEADERS
Bailey Quinn (Hanford, Calif./Robinson Secondary School [Va.[) led the Bullets offensively with five hits on the day, including a 4-for-4 game one.
Paige Forry (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) struck out 10 for a 10-inning, five-hit shutout in the game one victory. Megan Hughes (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge) went the distance in game two with four strikeouts.

FOR THE FOES
• Samantha Mallen led the Bears with four hits on the afternoon.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, Paige Forry and Christa Andrusiewicz were locked up in a pitchers' duel. The Bullets got runners to third base in three of the first four innings but could not push across a run while the Bears had a runner at third in two of the first four innings but could not score. It was not until the 10th inning and international tiebreaker that Gettysburg was able to push the winning runs across.
• With Nikki Caesar (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) starting at second base as a pinch runner, a one-out Allegra DeCandia (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) single up the middle put runners at the corners with one out. After DeCandia stole second, a two-out throwing error plated both Caesar and DeCandia for a 2-0 lead. Forry then threw a 1-2-3 bottom of the inning for the complete-game, five-hit shutout. She finished with 10 strikeouts.
• In game two, Samantha Mallen led off the home first with a single up the middle before Rachel Hartman walked. After a groundout put two runners in scoring position, an out at the plate and then rundown scored Hartman for a 1-0 lead.
Bailey Quinn led off the top of the third with a  double to led before taking third on a wild pitch and scoring on a second wild pitch in the frame to tie the game at 1-all.
• The pitchers once again took over until a one-out Allyson Meakim double in the bottom of the sixth. Amanda Panati reached on an infield single before a Sara Sullivan double to the gap scored both runs for a 3-1 lead.
• Riley Coneeny worked around a leadoff error with a pair of groundouts and strikeout for the save.

THE INSIDE STORY
Bailey Quinn went 4-for-4 in game one while Allegra DeCandia had two hits.
Giovanna Komst (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) and Jess Campana (Brick, N.J./St. John Vianney) had two hits each in game two.
• The Bullets will await the conclusion of the Dickinson-Washington doubleheader later this weekend to find out its seed. Gettysburg will be the third seed and travel to the No. 2 seed in one semifinal, scheduled for Thursday, if the Red Devils sweep the Shorewomen. One or two wins by Washington would make the Bullets the fourth seed, hosting No. 5 Swarthmore in the play-in game scheduled for Tuesday.
• Ursinus clinched one of the top two seeds with the game-two win and will host a semifinal. The Bears could still be the top seed, pending the results of the Dickinson-Washington doubleheader and completion of its game with Franklin & Marshall.
