NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Academic Teams and Athletes for 2023 and Gettysburg was among the Division III programs recognized.
Both the Bullets men's and women's team were tabbed as All-Academic Teams. To qualify for the honor, the team must have a collective grade-point average of 3.1 or higher.
Gettysburg women were one of 219 Division III programs honored with a 3.35 collective grade-point average. The men were also one of 167 teams in Division III to earn the recognition with a 3.32 GPA. Seven of the nine Centennial Conference (CC) men's teams and nine of the 10 women's teams were among those honored.
Individually, three Bullets were named All-Academic Athletes. Rising sophomore
Lillian Boudreau (Adams, Mass./Hoosac Valley), rising senior
Holly Ferrara (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) and recent graduate
Lily Morrell (Frederick, Md./Urbana) were among the 704 total Division III female student-athletes honored who had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher and finished the indoor or outdoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS and/or participated at the indoor or outdoor national championship.
Boudreau, an undeclared major, ranked 41st in the 400 meters indoor with her converted time of 57.95 seconds at the South Region Final Qualifier at Shenandoah.
Ferrara, a political science major, placed fifth at the NCAA championship in the javelin with a toss of 43.05 meters to claim her second straight All-America honors in the event.
Morrell, a political science major, ranked 38th in the 400 hurdles outdoor with a program-record time of 1:03.63 at the Messiah Invitational.
