THE SKINNY STORY
After a Gettysburg and Salisbury split a pair of two-point sets, the Bullets won the third set 25-21 before pulling away in the fourth set with a 25-16 win to top the host Sea Gulls, 3-1.
THE LEADERS

Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) led the Bullets with nine kills to go with five blocks and four digs.

Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) led the attack with 15 kills to go with seven digs and three total blocks.

Chelsea O'Leary (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) steadied the defense with 25 digs.
FOR THE FOES
• Gwen Eustace led the Sea Gulls with 13 kills.
• Jackie Mitchell finished with a double-double, posting 10 kills and 13 digs.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Led by a pair of
Catherine Holtz kills, Gettysburg jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first set. Salisbury, however, responded with a 15-8 stretch that closed the margin to 17-15 on a Brooke Young ace. The Sea Gulls eventually tied the set at 20-all before taking a 21-20 edge on a Bullet attacking error. After an
Alycen Radolovic kill retied the set, a Salisbury error and block from Gettysburg made it 23-21. After the teams traded errors, a service error gave the Bullets a 25-23 win.
• Salisbury opened up a second-set lead as large as 9-5 on a block before Gettysburg countered with seven of the next 10 points to tie the set at 12-all on a Radolovic knockdown. The teams traded points with neither team opening up a lead of larger than three before a pair of Bullet miscues and Kiley McTaggart kill finished off a 26-24 Sea Gull win to tie the match at 1-all.
• Gettysburg scored three of the first four points in the third set before Salisbury responded, opening up a lead as large as 16-10 before the Bullets countered.
Olivia Biggs (Winchester, Va./James Wood) started the rally with a kill and
Brooke Lauletta (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown East) capped the 11-5 stretch that tied the set at 21-all. In all, the Bullets scored the final seven points of the set to turn a 21-18 deficit into a 25-21 victory.
Catherine Holtz and
Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) each had a kill and block after Lauletta tied the score.
• Gettysburg carried that momentum to a 10-2 start in the fourth set. Salisbury would not get any closer than five at 19-14 the rest of the way.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The 25 digs for
Chelsea O'Leary moved her career total to 1,025 after becoming the 22nd player in program history to reach the 1,000-dig in the opening match against William Smith.
•
Sophie Nasir (Covina, Calif./St. Lucys Priory) added 22 assists and 10 digs for the Bullets.
•
Mary Huegel finished with eight total blocks to go with five kills.
