THE SKINNY STORY
Muhlenberg scored a goal on either side of halftime and withstood fourth-quarter offensive pressure from Gettysburg to notch a 2-1 victory in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.

Morgan Cherry (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) scored the lone goal for the Bullets.

• Erin DiSandro led the Mules with a goal and an assist.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• With just over four-and-a-half minutes to play in the second quarter, Erin DeSandro had a second chance and did not miss, converting a pass from Abba Diglio.
• With a 1-0 lead at the intermission, Muhlenberg converted again just 2:45 into the third quarter when DeSandro returned the favor for Diglio to give the hosts a 2-0 lead. On a corner in the 39th minute, however, Gettysburg got on the board. Off a stick stop and quick pass from

• The Bullets controlled possession in the fourth quarter, including being awarded a penalty stroke in the 58th minute but Grace Leard stopped the attempt to keep the one-goal lead.
THE INSIDE STORY

Morgan Cherry became the 11th different Gettysburg player to score a goal this season.
•
Emilia Saccento (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) made six saves in goal for the Bullets.
• Muhlenberg finished with a 10-5 advantage in shots while Gettysburg had a 6-5 edge in penalty corners.
