THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg got out to a quick start in the first quarter, but the Fords used three third-quarter goals to outpace the Bullets and earn the 4-1 win.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg got the scoring started just 5:35 into the game as Jillian Somers (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) sent a cross to Hailey Rhine for the first tally of the game.
• After two Haverford shots in the second quarter, Poppy Swallow got a pass to Erica Pardon, who scored her first of the day to tie the game. Alex Wenz (Blue Bell, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) had a look for Gettysburg late in the period, but Fords goalie Mary Smith made the stop.
• It took only 3:37 into the second half for Haverford to take a 2-1 lead, as Naomi York dribbled into a one-on-one opportunity with the keeper and blasted one past for the Fords' second tally. After two shots by Haverford, they were awarded a corner, and a scramble in front of the cage allowed Zoey Despines to get the ball to Swallow for a 3-1 Fords advantage. The visitors would score once more in the quarter, as Pardon netted her second off a feed from Holly Vincent.
• Gettysburg had three scoring opportunities in the final quarter, but all three were saved for a 4-1 final score.
