Muhlenberg, ranked 22nd in the latest United Soccer Coaches Div. III poll, raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a 5-1 win over Gettysburg.

• Taylan Akdag recorded a hat trick for the Mules.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Chris Richards staked Muhlenberg to a 1-0 lead just 7:16 into the contest. Taylan Akdag then found the back of the net twice in a 13-minute, 5-second span. He converted off a pass from Brandin Osborne pass in the 18th minutes before Elie Khalil connected with him in the 31st minute for a 3-0 lead.

Athi Msiza (Gauteng, South Africa/Berkshire School [Mass.]) played a ball ahead to
Chase Sempervive, who slid the ball into the left side of the net to break up the shutout. Akdag completed his hat trick with a PK in the 70th minute to push the lead back to three. Khalil added a goal to his ledger to set the final margin in the 81st minute.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Muhlenberg finished the game with a 17-3 advantage in shots. Gettysburg had a slim 7-6 edge in corner kicks.
