THE SKINNY STORY

THE LEADERS
•
Nate Williams (Morganville, N.J./St. John Vianney) led the Bullets with 15 points and six rebounds.
•
Akim Joseph (Port-au-Prince, Haiti/Notre Dame Fairfield [Conn.]) put up 14 points, including going 4 of 6 from outside the arc.
•
Ryan McKeon (Landenberg, Pa./Sanford [Del.]) scored 11 and dished three assists.
FOR THE FOES
• Jayson Williams-Johnson scored 32 points.
THE REST OF THE STORY
•
Ryan McKeon scored Gettysburg's first four but was matched by Muhlenberg, who pulled away on a 10-3 run to lead by eight. A 3-pointer by
Antonello Baggi (Cremona, Italy/West Deptford [N.J.]) and
Aidan Mess (Brookeville, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) basket cut the deficit to three, and two
Ray Zamloot (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) free throws and another Baggi triple gave the Bullets their first lead. The lead changed hands several times over the next three minutes, and two Mules baskets sandwiched a Zamloot 3-pointer for a one-possession Muhlenberg lead with 2:16 showing in the half. Two
Nate Williams shots, including a buzzer-beater triple, switched the advantage back to a 30-29 Gettysburg lead at half.
•
Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./Saint Joseph Hammonton) kicked off the second stanza with two jumpers and a fast break layup to hold onto the one-point lead in the first four minutes. Another Stafford basket sparked a 12-2 Gettysburg run over an almost four-minute period to notch a Bullets 10-point lead. Zamloot hit another 3-pointer to push the lead to 13, but Muhlenberg responded with a 9-0 run to close within three, and a Jayson Williams layup made it a one-point game once again with 7:20 showing. A Williams 3-pointer and free throw kicked the lead back out to five, and the Mules closed within four twice in the final 38 seconds but couldn't complete the comeback for an 81-77 final.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Stafford and Zamloot each finished with 10 points, while Baggi scored eight.
• Muhlenberg shot 53 percent from field goal range to the Bullets' 47 percent, but Gettysburg outshot Muhlenberg from outside the arc. The Bullets cashed in on 41.7 percent of 3-point attempts while the Mules converted on 25 percent.
