THE SKINNY STORY
Franklin & Marshall raced out to a 13-4 lead in the first set en route to a 3-0 win over Gettysburg.
THE LEADERS

Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) led the Bullets with 11 kills and five digs.
FOR THE FOES
• Coco Shultz paced the Diplomats with 13 kills, five digs and two blocks.
• Gianna Mangiamele added 13 kills of her own to go with six digs.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Two Coco Shultz kills helped stake Franklin & Marshall to an 8-1 lead and force an early Gettysburg timeout. Avery Grantham added her second ace in the early going out of the stoppage for a 9-1 lead. The Diplomats extended the lead to 13-4 on a block from Liah Perez and Carly Campbell. The Bullets clawed back to within 23-13 on a
Kierra Fox (Phoenix, Ariz./Rancho Solano Prep School) ace but a Ceci Connolly kill and Gettysburg attacking error closed out the 25-13 win.
• Four straight F&M kills helped the visitors to a 4-1 lead in the second set. A block from
Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) and
Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) closed the margin to 10-9. The Diplomat lead remained between one and three until back-to-back errors opened up a 20-15 advantage. The Bullets pulled back within two on three occasions down the stretch but Shultz put away the final point of a 25-22 victory.
• The third set featured six ties and three lead changes before Franklin & Marshall put together a 7-2 run that Melissa Benkowitz capped with an ace for a 14-9 lead, forcing a Gettysburg timeout. The hosts closed the margin to 15-14 on an
Ellen Manke (Madison, N.J./Morristown Beard School) kill but they could get no closer and the Diplomats finished off the sweep, 25-21.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Franklin & Marshall hit .318 on the night while holding Gettysburg to .153.
•
Nala Shearer (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) steadied the defense with 14 digs.
•
Halle Feth (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) chipped in 18 assists, five digs and an ace.
