THE SKINNY STORY
Swarthmore rallied from a 15-11 deficit in the second set to tie the match at 1-all and won the next two sets to defeat Gettysburg, 3-1.
THE LEADERS
•
Clare Farrell (Livingston, N.J./Academy of St. Elizabeth) led the Bullets with 11 kills and hit .290.
•
Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) also chipped in 11 kills.
FOR THE FOES
• Alexia Enache led the Garnet with 15 kills and nine digs.
• Angelina Heminway added 14 kills and just two errors on 22 swings to hit .454. She also had two blocks.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening set keyed by a pair of
Kendall Erpenbeck (San Jose, Calif./Prospect) aces. Swarthmore closed the margin to 8-7 on back-to-back Alexia Enache kills. The lead swelled back to 19-12 on an
Erin Gonzalez (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) kill and ace. The Garnet, however, once again clawed within 21-19 but the Bullets closed out a 25-21 victory.
• Trailing 8-4 in the second set, Isabel Adam put down three straight kills to trim the Swarthmore deficit to 8-7 but Gettysburg extended the lead to 15-11. An Angelina Heminway kill, though, started a 9-1 rally that gave Swarthmore a 20-16 lead en route to a 25-21 win.
• Tied at 8-all in the third set, a service error and back-to-back aces from Enache gave the Garnet an 11-8 lead and started a 6-0 burst. Gettysburg got no closer than three the rest of the way, falling 25-18 in the set.
• Swarthmore jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fourth set and never trailed, wrapping up the four-set win, 25-17.
THE INSIDE STORY

Nala Shearer (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) steadied the defense with 18 digs while
Sophie Nasir (Covina, Calif./St. Lucy's Priory) added 10 digs to go with 15 assists.
•
Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) and
Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) had five blocks each. Holtz added six kilsl while Huegel had five on seven swings.
